Feel Younger and More Confident with Our PRP Vampire Facials

Are you searching for a way to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles without surgery? A vampire facial may be the answer. This facial procedure can breathe new life into your skin by giving it a youthful glow and plumpness.

At Winnie King, MD Aesthetics and Wellness, Dr. King works with her clients to address their skin concerns. She creates a treatment plan to reverse the signs of aging brought on by time, pollution, and sun damage. Her vampire facials can give you younger-looking, radiant skin.

You’ve seen these vampire facial photos all over social media, but what exactly is happening? We’ll explain how a vampire facial works to improve skin and the benefits you can achieve with one.

What is a vampire facial?

In short, a vampire facial is a microneedling treatment combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). It has three steps.

  1. First we draw a small amount of blood from your arm, just like when you get a blood test. We place the blood in a machine called a centrifuge and spin it, which separates the blood’s components into layers. To create your PRP, we use the platelets mixed with a small amount of plasma, which is the liquid portion of blood.
  2. Next your skin is cleansed and a light numbing cream is applied for your comfort. Then your specialist performs the microneedling process on your face. During microneedling, we use a device with tiny needles to create lots of microchannels in your skin.
  3. Then we apply the PRP derived from your own blood as a healing serum on your skin. The PRP soaks into the microchannels to penetrate deep into your skin.

How the vampire facial works

The mini injuries created by the microneedling prompt your skin to fix itself by increasing collagen production. Collagen is a structural protein that gives your skin fullness and firmness, but it decreases as you age. After microneedling, your skin becomes stronger as more collagen is produced, and it also looks smoother as fine lines and wrinkles become less prominent.

In addition, PRP uses the healing proteins and growth factors in your platelets to improve the look of your skin. Think of it as targeting your body’s healing system to where you want it to work -- on your face.

Many people describe their results from a vampire facial as similar to a facelift but without the cost and extended downtime associated with surgery.
